As the title suggests Integrative therapy is a blend of counselling and psychotherapy. Integrative therapists take the view that there is no single approach that can help each client in all situations.
Typically a therapeutic approach is collaboratively introduced to the client, who decides if the approach resonates with them, or seems interesting and helpful. If agreed the approach is integrated and utilised interchangeably within counselling sessions and drawn upon whenever helpful for the client.
As an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, I am trained in a wide range of approaches and modalities, that can be integrated into sessions, including theory and techniques from; Humanistic (inc Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Emotionally Focused (EFIT), Motivational (MI), Cognitive Behavioural (including third-wave CBT), Psychodynamic/Alternative (NLP, Time Line Therapy & HeartMath Resilience)
These approaches can deepen and enrich sessions and some provide new skills to manage mood, improve confidence and develop new ways to thrive more in life. I tend to work intuitively and tailor approaches to suit your individuality and needs.

Counselling can be described as a non-judgmental space to talk and offload in confidence, with a trained counsellor who can therapeutically hold the client and support them by listening, being warm, empathic, trustworthy and honest in their reflections and feedback. Humanistic Counselling can be offered as a standalone approach, the sessions are non-directive and very much led by you (the client) and your pace, in terms of what you are comfortable, ready to share and bring into each session.
For some client’s humanistic counselling creates the right condition and necessary space, for them to reflect, grow and make changes.

Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR).
This treatment resolves symptoms resulting from disturbing and traumatic life experiences. Studies show that when in REM sleep we are able to make new associations between things very rapidly. EMDR is designed to tap into this high-speed processing mode that we all have, helping the brain to process the unresolved memories and make them less distressing..
These sessions can be 1hour, 1hour 30 mins, or 2 hours long. Prices are between £80 - £160

Emotionally focused Individual therapy (EFIT) is an approach for developing a secure and resilient relationship with self and others. I can help you through problems around attracting toxic parters, attatchment issues faced within or forming healthy relationships, trauma from the past that is impacting current relationships. This approach along with a Gottman psychoeducation approch can help you better understand your own and others' emotions, address any insecurities and conflicts, so you are better able to interact in a more responsive and emotionally connected way. It also helps improve your self esteem and confidence.
Coaching can help you develop your personal capabilities, interpersonal skills, and capacity to understand and empathise with others. I offer this as a stand-alone service for private sessions and as an integrative approach in my other services. For example; Coaching skills naturally come through when offering psychoeducation around new theories, in CBT approaches and also
co-regulation skills, such as breathing exercises for mental health problems like anxiety, whenever helpful and suitable for you,
this is all complimentry within integrative therapy sessions.
